Hey there! I’m Alfonso. I’m based between Málaga and Barcelona, and I travel a lot. Sometimes for work, sometimes just for fun. Sometimes with a budget, sometimes with a better one. But always with the same problem: I care too much about where I sleep and what I eat to leave it to chance. I’ve sat through enough bad meals and checked out of enough forgettable rooms to know that the difference between a good trip and a great one usually comes down to research.
I’m what some people call a flashpacker — somewhere between the gap year backpacker and the five-star everything crowd, which in practice means I want the good room and the memorable dinner without necessarily paying the five-star price for either. It’s possible more often than you’d think. That gap, between wanting quality and having a real budget, is what pushed me to start researching seriously. And researching seriously is what eventually turned into this blog.
The blog is organised into four sections: destinations, itineraries, reviews, and rankings. The focus is East and Southeast Asia, mostly, though not exclusively. Everything is first-hand, honest, and detailed enough to be useful when you’re actually planning something.
